It’s hard to say what’s right and wrong when it comes to hair. Most women embrace their beautiful locks, whether long or short, and do something to it to help enhance their look. Men are notorious for letting their hair be the least of their worries. Women shampoo and condition; men sometimes shower. Women blow dry their hair; men shake their hair dry. Women will apply numerous products to give their hair the look they want. A man may own a comb.

I, of course, am talking generally. I don’t believe that every woman spends time on her hair, and I certainly know that every man doesn’t let his hair go all day looking the way it did when he rolled out of bed. I am pointing my finger at you guys who don’t take care of your hair. I hope to not only give you some helpful hygiene tips but to also recommend a new hairstyle for you to try.
The most important tip in hair styling is washing it. I’m the kind of guy who needs to shower at least once a day. I believe that clean hair is the perfect way to start styling. Like a blank canvas waiting to be painted, your hair deserves absolute cleanliness before you style and start your day. While in the shower, wash your hair. You don’t know how weird I feel telling you this, but shampooing your hair is super important. It not only cleans your hair (obviously), but it will make you instantly feel better about your appearance. I’ve come to understand that no one feels good while his or her hair is dirty. I’m not big on conditioning my hair, but I do occasionally to add a bit of health to my hair, so I’m going to recommend you do the same.
Once you’re done in the shower, you have two options: to style or not to style. Depending on how long your hair is you can style it in different ways. If you have long hair then the styling is basically done for you. I cannot stress enough the importance of combing or brushing. If you want your hair to look nice run a comb through those lovely locks of yours.  If you have shorter hair, then I would recommend styling it one of two ways. I’m a personal fan of the messy look, which essentially involves taking gel, mousse, or hair paste and rubbing it through your hair to create a messy yet stylish look. You can also use these products to get a more refined and sophisticated look. It all depends on the way you style.

Step 2

As far as hairstyles that are in right now, I would say that shorter is more popular but long is never a bad thing. A trendy hairstyle for those looking for something new and bold and fashionable is known as an undercut. This means the sides of your head will be cut significantly shorter than what’s on top. Before I got this cut, I was very worried I wouldn’t know how to style it. Have no fear. Just run some mousse (or liquid pomade) through wet hair then use a blow dryer to help it stand up (so be sure to blow the hair in an upward motion). After blow-drying, just run some gel or hair paste through your hair and style it whichever direction and position you wish. I only give you the specifics on this specific hairstyle because it is my own, and I feel I have mastered the art of styling it.

Hair doesn’t have to be a hard thing to style and it doesn’t have to be a hard thing to take care of. So pick a style and stick with it. And don’t be afraid to try new cuts and products. Its just hair; it’ll grow back. If you’re happy with the way your hair looks then by all means keep doing what you’re doing…unless you’re not showering. For goodness sakes, please shower.
