Past involvement in the SGA?

Two years as Class President (freshman and sophomore year), and two years as a sena- torial member in the Diversity Committee

Why SGA President?

From my experience as Class President, I know I have ac- quired the skills to lead an ex- ecutive board and to execute initiatives. I have a clear vision of how I want to impact Wash- ington College’s community. One of my signature initiatives is to create a more open envi- ronment, by creating a WC SGA app so students can be informed weekly on senatorial discus- sions.

What are your main goals?

1. Facilitate effective and trans- parent communication on cam- pus
2. Emphasize campus with com- munity outreach

3. Evolve the image of Student Government Association (SGA)

Sophomore Taylor Frey

Past involvement in the SGA?

Senator for the committee of ac- ademics, currently a senator in the organizations committee, representative of SGA for facul- ty committees, and a member of the Honor Board, Honor Board internal review board, and sexual assauult review board of the hon- or board.

Why SGA President?

I’m interested in running…be- cause I think I have experience I can give back to the community. I want to put students first in all of the policy areas that the SGA deals with.

What are your main goals?

1. Emphasis on service and rela- tions with our community
2. Financial ability for students to pay for an education at WC….I don’t think a liberal arts education should ever be a debt sentence… I plan to firmly advocate for a cap on tuition increases during a stu- dent’s four years at WC.

3. Advocating for students when large issues come up… Mold, ceil- ing cracks…are not acceptable re- alities for students.

Past involvement in the SGA?

Class of 2017 Vice-President, SGA Senator for both Social Life and Diversity Committees. Why SGA Vice President?

I love people; every time I see someone in passing I say “Hi.” I truly like making people happy. I feel like being put in a position like this will maximize my po- tential to help people.

What are your main goals?

The office of the SGA Vice Pres- ident is charged with the re- sponsibility of representing the student-body in both public af- fairs and college relations, that is why I am interested in running to become our next SGA Vice President. Under the leadership of the Vice President, I would like to take care of the day to day operations of the Executive Board to free the SGA President up for executing goals and ad- vocating for students. We as stu- dents are more powerful when we all come together as a college community to get things done.

Junior Jaclyn Gibbons

Past involvement in the SGA?

Senator, active member of the Di- versity Committee, and Secretary of Diversity. I am currently Vice President of the Class of 2016 and have had that position for the past two years.

Why SGA Vice President?

I want to see the SGA well repre- sent the goals and interests of the student body. I …feel that I possess all of the necessary qualifications for this position and my past ex- perience…will enable me to take this position to new heights.

What are your main goals?

If elected as Vice President, I plan on streamlining communication between the SGA and the rest of the student body. I also hope to continue with some of Maddie’s initiative this past year, such as launchpad and increased collabo- ration between secretaries… I also plan on making sure that the sec- retaries and senators are account- able and work their hardest to en- sure they are representing the best interest of the student body.

Junior Charles Logan

Past involvement in the SGA?

Dorm senator, Speaker of the senate, and, currently the President of the Class of 2016

Why SGA Vice President?

It is my belief that the student body has a voice that is not always utilized. I hope that as vice president I can help unite the student body as one voice and work with the school to ensure they are making decisions that are the in our best interest.

What are your main goals?

1. Stronger town relations 2. Intensified school spirit 3. Stronger SGA senate
