Rachel Kurtz- Academics ( Not Pictured )

Year: Junior

Major: Math and Computer Science

“I am the liaison between faculty and students when it comes to academic concerns.”

1. What would your perfect day at WC consist of? “A nice warm day with no line at the omlette bar. Class outside and then chicken tenders for lunch.”

2. As a student leader at WC, what skills do you have that you could use to defend us against the zombie invasion? “As a student leader, I am well informed so I would be able to alert the students quickly so they can better prepare themselves.”

Cassie DeMcCuttac- Diversity

Year: Sophomore

Major: Psychology

1. What’s the project you are most excited to get started on next year as part of the SGA?  “I look forward to bringing back Diversity Week which exposes people to different types of diversity (this could include guest speakers and workshops).”

2. What would your perfect day at WC consist of? “Doing absolutely nothing and taking time to relax.”

3. As a student leader at WC, what skills do you have that you could use to defend us against the zombie invasion? “I’m not very strong, but my organizational skills are on point.”

Hannah Cagle- Environment

Year: Sophomore

“As Secretary of Environment, I help create environmental initiatives on campus with the help of SGA and other clubs and organizations.”

1. What’s the project you are most excited to get started on next year as part of the SGA? “I am looking forward to getting the Energy Dashboard, an initiative to reduce energy use on campus, up and running.”

2. What would your perfect day at WC consist of? “A beautiful day spent outdoors with friends.”

3. As a student leader at WC, what skills do you have that you could use to defend us against the zombie invasion? “Be faster than the slowest person.”

John Gould- Service Learning ( Not Pictured)

Year: Junior

Major: Business management

“I work closely with the Chestertown community and facilitate a positive relationship between the student body and the town.”

1. What’s the project you are most excited to get started on next year as part of the SGA? “I am most excited for the annual Chestertown Halloween parade, because it gives me an opportunity to work with the Chestertown Lions Club and help integrate our student body into community events. Student interaction with the community is something that I believe is lacking.”

2. What would your perfect day at WC consist of? “Waking up at 5:30 a.m. for rowing practice, sleeping through all of my classes, going to practice again, going to the Lemon Leaf, maybe do some homework, and then going back to bed.”

3. As a student leader at WC, what skills do you have that you could use to defend us against the zombie invasion? “I’m good with a hammer.”

Aliya Merhi- Social Life

Year: Junior

“The Secretary of Social Life collaborates and leads on all major pride and spirit events such as Birthday Ball, Homecoming, War on the Shore, and tailgating events.”

1. What’s the project you are most excited to get started on next year as part of the SGA? “Homecoming and Birthday Ball are the two biggest projects, but I am also excited for the tailgates next year to amp up school spirit.”

2. What would your perfect day at WC consist of? “One like we had this past Saturday with flowers blooming on a beautiful spring day, prospective students listening to faculty, staff, and students talk about how much they love the school, and Shakespeare on the campus green.”

3. As a student leader at WC, what skills do you have that you could use to defend us against the zombie invasion? “I might not be athletic, but I am a leader and know how to organize and plan events so I could think on my feet and take charge of a mass of confused students by giving directions.”

Tom Brennan- Student Services and Campus Properties

Year: Sophomore

Major: Political Science & Environmental Studies

“My position is to ensure our  students, faculty, staff, and visitors are safe and satisfied with the services the college provides as well as overall condition of the college by coordinating with offices such as Residence Life, Buildings and Grounds, Public Safety, and Student Affairs, among others.”TomBrennanSecretaryofStudentServesbyKatieDoyleBW (1)

1. What’s the project you are most excited to get started on next year as part of the SGA? “It’s hard to choose one, but my top choices are overseeing the construction of the new academic building and dorm and improving crosswalk safety at those on campus and bordering the campus.”

2. What would your perfect day at WC consist of? “Not having to worry about any work or assignments and spending the day watching a lacrosse or baseball game or enjoying the many amenities at our Waterfront Campus.”

3. As a student leader at WC, what skills do you have that you could use to defend us against the zombie invasion? “I’m a thorough planner, effective communicator, and very resourceful. I would be able to institute a plan of action in case of such an event, convey the plan to the college community, and, using any and all resources at my disposal, have the necessary supplies necessary to survive in place.”
