According to Diversity Chair Senator Lindsey Jackson, the Diversity Committee would like everyone to know that March is women’s rights month.
President Audrey Utchen spoke about introducing a bill that will promote mental health awareness.
The Enviromental Committee said that the Bike Share program is now open.
Makers Union was made an official club. According to club president Michael Cho, they currently have classes on Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and they are planning on having laser cutting and 3D printing workshops in the future. They are also thinking about building a drone and a super computer for different departments on campus.
Chestertown Mayor Chris Cerino came as a guest speaker. He said that the town received a $230,000 grant and worked with the Kent County school system to rebuild the outdoor amenities. He also spoke about the town buying the Chestertown marina. They are currently working on flooding issues and rebuilding the docks.
Sarah Feyerherm, vice president of student affairs and dean of students, applauded students’ behavior for Birthday Ball. She also said that by 2018 all students will be allowed to take part in pre-orientation activities
Voting occurred on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. online, in the Casey Academic Center and in Hodson.
