Tennis Opens Fall Season in Virginia

The men’s tennis team started their fall season with the Randolph Macon’s Yellow Jacket Invitational. The team travaled to Ashland, Va. to compete on Saturday, Sept. 22.

The men’s team swept away the competition by going 8-4 in singles and 9-1 in doubles. Washington College saw Roanoke College, Juniata College, Randolph-Macon College, and Virginia Wesleyan University throughout the weekend of competition.

The women’s team sent two first-year players to represent Washington College at the ITA Southeast Regional tournament in Fredericksburg, Va.  on Saturday, Sept. 22.

Freshmen Alisha White and Cecilia Cress saw Dickinson College, Christopher Newport University, and Washington and Lee University during their weekend of doubles and singles competition.

The tournament was two days of play, starting on Sept. 22 and lasting until Sept. 24.
