The Shoremen lacrosse team faced a tough loss on Saturday, April 17 on their home turf as they fell 18-10 to the Diplomats.

“We started off with a lot of momentum in the first quarter,” Reilly said. “I wish we could have kept it through the rest of the game, but, regardless, I know we worked hard throughout the game.”

The Shoremen went on to suffer a deficit for the next two quarters, getting outscored 5-1 in the second and 6-0 in the third.

It was not until the fourth quarter that the Shoremen were able to find their rhythm and scored another seven points before the end of the match.

Sloan was the first to end the Diplomats’ scoring streak 46 seconds into the final quarter, followed by goals from sophomore Matt Schellenger, freshman Jeremy Wilson, and seniors Casey Grieves and Trey Ritter.

“It was a slow start, but we kept fighting,” said Schellenger. “Unfortunately, it was just too little too late.”
