Letter to the editor

Dear Editor,

I enjoyed Tom Palazzo's article in last week's paper. He made some valid points, and I hope that they will generate discussion.

He wants to know "why don't more people attend athletic events?" I want to know why more students don't attend campus events of all kind.

It saddens me when I see more community people attending the Concert Series than I do students. I wonder what's wrong when I see more community people attend a lecture by a prominent individual than I do students.

Students, your college years are the time when you should attend at least one of everything. Non-athletes, attend at least one lacrosse game. If you don't like it, fine. But at least you'll know you don't like it. Athletes, attend at least one classical concert. If you don't like it, fine. But at least you'll know you don't like it.

Education is much, much more than what occurs in the classroom. Broaden yourself. Take advantage of all that WC has to offer. Leave it better than you found it, and leave here better than when you entered.
