This past week the Shorewomen brought their overall record to 9-9 in games against Catholic University, Villa Julie College, and Haverford College.
Saturday, March 24, Washington faced Villa Julie. Michelle Rodney led the Shorewomen going 4-for-5. Rodney hit two homeruns and drove in four.
Rodney leads the conference with six homeruns and 18 RBI this year. Freshman Stefanie Mihalek went 3-for-5 also driving in four. Regardless of their efforts Ville Julie won the game 19-15.The Shorewomen came back to pick up the nightcap. Freshman Natalie Licketto went 3-for-4 in the game.
Renee Springston led the Shorewomen going 2-for-4 with one homerun and five RBI. Senior captain Toby Wilmet also went 3-for-4 with four RBI. The Shorewomen managed a five inning 20-6 victory.
This past Tuesday the Shorewomen picked up two conference wins against Haverford. After an 8-1 victory in the first game, the Shorewomen came back to win the second game 4-3.
Wednesday, April 4, the Shorewomen traveled to the nations capital to make up the March 22 rainout against Catholic University.
The Shorewomen came up short in the first game, losing 2-0. In the nightcap, the Shorewomen prevailed 9-8. Junior Allison Weisbrod pitched 6 strong innings striking out 7 batters to pick up the win. Sophomore Julie Bahus pitched the seventh inning to pick up her conference leading third save of the year.
The Shorewomen will next meet Western Maryland College, on the road, Saturday, April 7. First pitch is at 1 p.m.
