The Washington College men's tennis team is storming though what has been an extremely good season. April 6 was the date the NCAA Division-III tennis rankings were released, and it was good news for the Washington tennis program.

The WC men's tennis team received 60 points, just three behind #1 Emory.

In addition, Junior Jose Lejarraga is now ranked the nations #1 tennis player.

Other rankings for Washington players, in singles competition, are Bart Prytula (#18) and Peter Taylor (#21). In doubles, Prytula and Taylor team up to be the nations #10 team overall.

Before these rankings were released, the Shoremen faced Centennial Conference opponent Ursinus College. Lejarraga, Morgan, and sophomore Alavaro Prado all won their singles match 6-0, 6-0.

Taylor and Louis Blanchette each won their singles matches 6-1, 6-0.

Freshmen Brant Wisler rounded out the singles victories with a 6-1, 6-1 win.

The Shoremen improved their record to 11-0 and 5-0 in the Centennial Conference matches with a 7-0 victory over Haverford College. The Shoremen completely dominated the Fords all throughout the match.

With a 5-2 win over the University of the South, the men's tennis team pushed their overall record to 12-0. The South won two matches in singles and one doubles match to make the contest close.

Lejarraga won his first singles match, 6-3, 6-1. Morgan fought to claim a win in the second singles 2-6, 6-2, 6-3. Taylor cruised to a win in his fourth singles match 6-3, 6-1.
