Softball has struggling season

David Gallara

The Washington College softball team dropped two at Muhlenberg College.

The Shorewomen lost the first game 2-1 and were shutout in the second 5-0.

In the first game, Washington jumped out to a 1-0 lead early on. Toby Wilmet scored the only run for the Shorewomen. WC managed only three hits in the loss.

The lack of hitting for Washington was evident in the second game as well. Julie Bahus went 2-for-3 in the loss.

The Shorewomen also dropped two games to Dickinson last Saturday (5-1, 2-1).

Renee Springston went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Shorewomen in the first game.

In the second game, Allison Weisbrod allowed no earned runs in the loss.

The Shorewomen now have an overall record of 9-17 and are 4-12 in conference play.
