Crew
The Washington College women's Varsity 4 placed 12 out of 24 teams in the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association regatta. The Shorewomen boat was the only Division III boat to make it to the finals. The Varsity 4 consisted of coxswain Amy Levak, Leona Dalton, Heather Reader, Kara Ripple, and Gina Ralsoton.
The Women's Varsity 8 with coxswain Anna Germain, Brianne Brynelson, Kelly McGlynn, Kyle Geissler, Hilary Wurzbach, Mary McAuliffe, Sara Beegle, Tracie Gee, and Katie Wilwol placed 12 out of 25 teams. Washington College was the only Division II or III to advance out of the heats.
The Washington College Men's Varsity 4 placed fourth in the Murphy Cup Regatta in Philadelphia, PA.
Fordham University won the race followed by Villanova University and Pennsylvania State University. The lightweight boat was made up of coxswain Rob Page, Sean Askham, Jonathan Lange, Jonas Johnson, and Gregory Smith.
The Washington College boat of Matthew Young and John Leekley finished fifth in the Men's Varsity Pair.
La Salle University finished first in the race followed by Stockton, Johns Hopkins, and Pittsburgh.
This weekend will be one of the biggest tests of the year for both teams as they face some of their most important competition in Carlisle, PA, at the Atlantic Collegiate League Sprints.
IM Floor Hockey
The Chis & Guys claim the co-ed floor hockey t-shirts with a convincing 5-0 win over the Steele Reserves last Sunday.
The national anthem had barely finished and the Chis & Guys were on the scoreboard. They took a 5-0 lead into the third period and never looked back.
IM Softball
The Theta Chi's came from behind to earn a 9-8 victory in their last at bat against the Mass Poundages.
The Mass Poundages opened up an 8-2 lead through 4 innings before their bats went quiet. Theta Chi slowly chipped away at the lead and then scored 3 runs in their final at bat to earn the victory.
Men's Tennis
The Washington College men's tennis team continued to prove themselves as the best team at WC as they defeated Franklin & Marshall College and Dickinson College to improve their overall record to 17-1.
Jose Lejaragga earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at the first singles spot. Seth Morgan cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles. At third singles, Bart Prytula claimed a 6-3, 6-4 win.
Lejaragga earned the win at the first singles spot 6-2, 6-2 against DC.
Prytula claimed victory at second singles, 6-0, 6-4.
Peter Taylor cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles.
