IM Volleyball
The season started and competition seems stiff. Thus far, after only two games, KA & Company finds itself atop the standings with a 2-0 record.
The Kent team also looks strong this season, as well as the Haz Beenz.
Stay tuned for more updates as the season progresses.
Men's Tennis
The Washington College men's tennis team opened their season on February 2, when they traveled to upstate New York to take on Division I SUNY Binghamton.
Played indoors at the Binghamton Tennis Center, Washington dropped the match 6-1, picking up their only win via freshmen Asfand Farouk.
Farouk is currently playing No. 5 singles for the Shoremen who return to play on February 24 when they host Division III power Carnegie Mellon at 10 a.m.
New Personnel
In attempts to better Washington College athletes, as well as all members of the school community, the Athletic Department has hired Ian Bunch as the newest member of the staff.
Bunch, a certified Fitness Instructor with the IFPA, brings soccer, tennis and rowing experience from Lafayette College. Bunch also sailed professionally, is certified in First Aid, CPR and is able to use Automated External Defibrillators.
The first main project Bunch will be working on is to improve the overall appearance and use of the WC workout areas. This includes buying new equipment, machines, weight stations, exercise balls and bands and a new stretching mat.
For more information, or any suggestions, please contact Ian Bunch via blitzmail.
Women's Rugby
Though the weather outside is frightful at times, one group of ladies on campus are not phased by it in the least.
The WC women's rugby team has started their practices and look forward to a successful and exciting season.
A tentative schedule has the Shorewomen playing four of their five contests at home. All home games are played at Worton Park.
