Washington College softball has begun to pick up their play as was seen in their last two double headers.
The Shorewomen faced off against Haverford and Wesley College in the last week, picking up wins in three of their last four games.
April 2, WC claimed a pair of victories against conference rival Haverford, to even their conference record at 3-3 and improve to 6-7-1 overall.
Freshman Andrea Braverman went four-for-four with two RBI and two runs scored to lead the Shorewomen to the 3-1 victory in game one.
Freshman shortstop Laura Scimeca went two-for-four with two runs scored in the game, sophomore Renee Springston went two-for-four with two RBI and a run scored, and sophomore Natalie Liccketto also had two hits.
Senior Allison Weisbrod got the win, allowing three hits, two walks and one run in seven innings, while striking out eight batters.
In the second game Braverman had another strong showing, finishing three-for-four with three RBI.
Scimeca and junior second baseman Julie Bahus both went two-for-four with an RBI and two runs scored.
Sophomore pitcher Fallon Dillon picked up the victory in game two.
The next day, following their two wins, the Shorewomen took on Wesley College where they split a pair of games.
Wesley took the first game with a 4-1 victory.
They then took the lead, 1-0, in the third inning on a throwing error.
Washington evened the score in the bottom of the inning when Bahus bunted with the bases loaded.
Neither team scored again until the top of the seventh inning.
Wesley scored its second run when Christina Cline scored on a passed ball.
Stefany Tiberi came across for the Wolverines third run on another passed ball and Joyce later scored on an error to tack on the fourth run for Wesley.
In the second game the Shorewomen earned two runs in the bottom of the second.
Senior outfielder Michelle Rodney led off the inning with a single and later scored when Dillon reached on an error.
Dillon scored on an RBI single by junior outfielder Cate Johnson.
Wesley scored a run in the third and another in the top of the fourth to tie the game at two.
In the bottom of the inning Rodney led off with a double. Two batters later she advanced to third on a single by Dillon and scored after a throwing error on the same play, resulting in a 3-2 win for WC.
Weisbrod picked up the win in the second game. She allowed only one hit and walked three batters in four innings.
Junior Alexis Stapanon pitched a perfect one two three inning in the fifth to pick up the save.
The Shorewomen return to action tomorrow with a home double-header against Muhlenberg at 1 p.m.
