The Shorewomen faced two strong non-conference teams last week.
First they faced Catholic University on Sept. 10, where they were defeated 4-1. They then fell to Stevens Tech on Sept. 14 in overtime 1-0.

Against Catholic the Shorewomen scored the first goal of the game when senior defender Kelly McClure scored a direct kick at 14:09. It was the second goal for McClure thus far this season.
The Cardinals tied things up with an unassisted goal from Brianne Palmieri at 24:06. Catholic then took the lead when Jenny Aspinwall knocked in a goal for the Cardinals at 24:06.
Aspinwall went onto score two more goals for the Cardinals during the second half of play, ensuring them a victory over the Shorewomen Washington junior goalkeeper Mandy Higdon made 12 saves Shorewomen in the loss.
Catholic led the Shorewomen in shots on goal, 15-7.
Stevens Tech 1, WC 0
Following the loss the Shorewomen traveled to Stevens Tech.
Against Stevens Tech the game remained scoreless throughout the first two halves of play. Finally, in double overtime, the first and only goal of the game was scored.
Valerie Barnhart scored an unassisted goal for Stevens Tech at 104:33 to give the Ducks a 1-0 lead and the victory over the Shorewomen.
Stevens Tech held a 10-8 advantage over the Shorewomen in shots.
Duck goalie Romy Guevara needed to make just one save to earn the shutout. Higdon made four saves for the Shorewomen in the loss.
The losses last week evened the Shorewomen's record 3-3 overall for the season.
"Both were tough games, on any given day we could've won and that made it even harder to lose," said junior midfielder Jen Cox.The Shorewomen are next in action tomorrow when they will travel to Dickinson College for their first Centennial Conference game.
