February 1 the men's and women's swim teams both traveled to Dickinson College, where the women improved to 7-2 overall and 3-2 in the Centennial Conference while the men slipped to 4-4 and 1-3 in the conference.
The women pulled out a 112-93 win over host Dickinson College.
Senior Pamela Vasquez won three individual events to lead Washington in the victory. Vasquez took first place in the 1000 freestyle in 10:55.66, the 200 individual medley in 2:19.62, and the 500 freestyle in 5:24.09.
Senior Stacy Sines won two events, swimming to a Washington College season-best time of 55.08 in the 100 freestyle and winning the 200 freestyle in 1:57.92.
Senior Julie Meirs was first in the 200 butterfly in 2:14.48 and junior Margaret Klag won the 200 breaststroke in 2:32.97.
The Shorewomen also won the opening relay, the 400 medley. Sophomore Ana Prado, Klag, Meirs and Sines finished the event in 4:12.28.
Senior Rebecca Sirman finished second in the 200 individual medley in 2:20.88, while Prado was second in the 200 backstroke in 2:18.85.
The Washington College men's swim team suffered a 137-59 loss to host Dickinson. Sophomore Ken Jensen and freshman Andy Wesolek each won one individual event for WC.
Jensen was first in the 100 butterfly in 58.23, while Wesolek won the 200 backstroke in a WC season-best time of 2:00.53.
Washington also won the 400 medley relay as Wesolek, Jensen, and juniors John Evans and Alex Kuhn completed the race in a WC season-best time of 3:46.42.
Evans accounted for two individual second-place finishes. He was second in the 200 individual medley in 2:07.89 and second in the 100 breaststroke in a WC season-best time of 1:04.03.
Wesolek took second in the 50 freestyle in 22.29 and Kuhn was second in the 200 freestyle in 1:52.73.
Both teams return to action tomorrow, when they will host McDaniel College in a 1 p.m. meet.
