The Shorewomen fell to 2-4 overall, 0-3 in conference, after losing to Centennial Conference rivals Haverford and Dickinson this week.
After falling behind at Haverford on Wednesday with a halftime score of 29-18, the ladies rallied to tie the game at 42 with just over six minutes left to play on a basket by junior Elise Conway. Conway also recorded a career high 22 rebounds in the contest.
Three minutes later, the Fords took the lead again, this time by three points. Freshman Julie Sherwood made one of two free throws to bring the team within two. With seventeen seconds on the clock, freshman Jane O'Donnell sunk a jump shot that sent the game into overtime.
In overtime, Haverford jumped to a nine point lead that the Shorewomen were not able to overcome, resulting in a final score of 63-59.
The team also suffered a tough loss on Saturday against Dickinson with a score of 66-55. WC trailed for the duration of the game, coming closest in the last minute when they cut the Red Devil lead to seven.
Senior LaToya Turner scored a career record 19 points in the game.
Sophomore Christie Davis also made it into double figures with eleven points.
The Shorewomen return home in a winter break game against conference opponent Gettysburg on Jan. 6 at 4 p.m.
