WC men’s and women’s crew competed in the world’s largest crew regatta over fall break in Boston, Massachusetts. The men’s team rowed at the collegiate and club levels, while the women raced for a club victory at the Head of the Charles regatta on October 18th.

The men’s collegiate four earned the best result of the day for the Shoremen, as they finished 11th of 31 boats with a time of 17:31. Junior Springer Harris was the coxswain for the four, which included sophomores Michael Zaborskiy, Reno Smith, Will Herland, and junior R. Scott Jones.

In addition, the club four ended their race in a time of 18:55 and placed 34th of 43 boats. Senior Carla Weimers was coxswain for the four comprised of juniors Andrew Newell, Dan Pierce, Ryan Beaston, and senior Matthew Icenroad.

On the women’s side of the competition, WC rowed in the club four level of the regatta. The team finished with a time of 20:14, which earned them a solid 14th out of 39 boats. Junior Krista Jensen led the four of juniors Ericka Malow, Amy Smith, sophomore Sarah Holland, and senior Jenna Lapointe.

WC men’s and women’s crew both return to the water on Saturday, as they host the Tapke Chase on the Chester River.
