Do you have what it takes to obtain a competitive internship or a career? Well, if your answer is “Not yet,” “Not sure,” or “Not thinking about it,” you should consider attending the Washington College Career Expo, where we will give you the necessary tools to be a success. The Career Expo, sponsored by Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and the Center for Career Development, is designed to provide job seekers with opportunities to improve skills and prepare for the relentless job market. This year’s Career Expo will be held in the McLain Atrium of the Toll Science Center on Wednesday, November 19th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Our Career Expo will offer five interactive clinics: Dress for Success, Resume Review, Speed Interviewing, Elevator Speeches and International Etiquette. First impressions and personal appearances are critical when applying for any job. Dress for Success will help you prepare for this aspect of the professional world. Once you are all dressed to impress, we will review your resume and give you suggestions for making your resume the one recruiters will notice. Then, our Speed Interviewing section will bring you up-to-date on the types of questions employers are asking these days, including behavioral questions. Practice on us before your real interview! We’ll also help you develop an “Elevator Speech” that will allow you to say all that is interesting about yourself in a very short amount of time. Do you picture yourself working for an international organization and traveling around the world? If you do, make sure you know how to act. Our International Etiquette presentation will teach you all you need
to know and more about approaching other cultures around the world. These clinics are set up so that you can visit the ones that are most important to you in the order that makes the most sense to you.
That’s not all! If you complete three of our stations, you will be in the running for a $25 gift certificate to Washington College’s bookstore. Please come support SIFE, and prepare for your future!
