Freshman tennis star Jordan Finnegan had a standout week. Last Thursday, she helped the Shorewomen beat the Mules of Muhlenberg 6-3 in an important conference match. Two days later on April 25th, she played a key role in pulling out a win against Dickinson to help push the Shorewomen into the playoffs.

Against Muhlenberg, Finnegan helped the team get a win at #1 doubles as she teamed with freshman Brittany Marshall by a score of 8-6. In singles, she stepped up and defeated the 16th ranked player by a score of 6-3, 6-3 at #1 singles in the Atlantic South.

As the team was looking to secure the 2nd seed in the playoffs against Dickinson, the freshman from Wilmington, DE again performed impressively to come away with the win. She teamed up with Marshall as they were winners at #1 doubles by a score of 8-4. Finnegan proved she could go the distance as she walked away with yet another win at #1 singles in three sets, with a score of 6-1, 1-6, 6-3.

On Tuesday, Finnegan was honored for her stellar play throughout the Spring as she was named to All Centennial Conference teams for singles and doubles.

This season, she has compiled a dominant record of 17-4, including an 8-2 mark in the conference. Finnegan is 7-2 #1 singles and 9-1 at #2. In doubles, she has teamed up to produce a record of 17-2 at #1 with eight wins coming in conference matches.

Her amazing performances have helped the Shorewomen to a school record of 16 wins and the #2 seed in the Centennial Conference Playoffs. She looks to continue her governing play as the Shorewomen take on 3rd seeded Muhlenberg tomorrow at tournament host Johns Hopkins.
