WC Shoremen soccer team left Ursinus College with a draw Sunday afternoon. The Shoremen were trailing for most of the second half before junior James Bedrock tied up the game with only four minutes left to play. Bedrock, accustomed to playing goal keeper, has been seeing a lot of playing time as forward this season. When asked if he enjoys playing in such a different position, he replied, “I enjoy helping the team to be successful. Wherever Coach decides to play me, I’ll play my hardest.”
Bedrock’s first collegiate goal off of sophomore Mike Vanaskie’s assist sent the game into double overtime. The Shoremen were able to get two shots off in the extra 20 minutes of play. The last shot of the game, which went just wide, belonged to sophomore Jordan Haas. The Shoremen have a conference record of 0-6-1 heading into their final two conference matches of the season. Their last game is home on Saturday at 7 p.m. when they will take on nationally ranked Johns Hopkins. Last year the Shoremen came out victorious, winning by one goal in overtime. This year they hope to finish strong and end their season on the same high note.
