The Washington College volleyball team will finish its season away this weekend at Dickinson. Last weekend, the Shorewomen were able to get one win out of the double header contest against visiting Lancaster Bible College and McDaniel College. The win came against Lancaster Bible.
The first match was played against Centennial Conference rival McDaniel College. The Green Terror were able to beat the Shorewomen in a five set thriller. Freshman defensive specialist, Rita Rivera was able to secure the third set win, squashing a McDaniel comeback. Freshman Jenny Lee came up with a double-double with 14 kills and 15 digs. Sophomore Alyssa Forget added in ten kills while senior Caitlin Ward had 32 assists. Junior libero, Traci Daelemans led the team with 23 digs.
A clutch block by junior Maria Whitman gave the Shorewomen the crucial second set victory over Lancaster Bible on the road to the 3-0 sweep. Forget again had ten kills while Ward had 27 assists. Daelemans came up with 19 digs in the second match.
The Shorewomen are looking to end their season on a high beating conference rival Dickinson on Saturday.
