DPS REPORT

10/28 - 11/3/09

ROBBERY: On 10/28/09 at 8:38 p.m., a WC student called to report that her friend had been assaulted by three young males near the Kudner Bridge on campus. Her friend’s cell phone was taken during the incident. Chestertown Police were contacted and are working with Public Safety on this investigation.

MDOP: A WC student reported damage to the rear tag of her vehicle on 10/29/09 at 8:38 p.m. The vehicle had been parked in the Harford parking lot when the damage was believed to have occurred.

THEFT: On 10/30/09 at 1:50 p.m., a WC employee called to report missing equipment (an analytical balance) from a room in Toll. Employees believe it may have been taken over the summer months.

CDS: On 10/30/09, Public Safety Officers responded to a call for a suspicious odor in Kent. Officers knocked on the door and upon entering discovered what appeared to be marijuana and smoking paraphernalia in the room. Chestertown Police were contacted and have assumed the investigation, which involves two WC students.

ALCOHOL: On 10/30/09 at 10:35 p.m., a WC student was issued a campus for having an open container of alcohol inside Sassafras. The student is underage.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: A WC student was issued a campus citation for disorderly conduct on 10/30/09 after an officer witnessed him punching a wall in Sassafras.

FAILURE TO OBEY: A WC student attempting to sneak back into the orange fence party after being asked to leave was issued a campus citation for failure to obey. The citation was written on 10/30/09 at 11:58 p.m..

PUBLIC URINATION: On 10/31/09 at 10:00 pm, a WC guest student was issued a campus citation after an officer witnessed him urinating in public.

SIMPLE ASSAULT: On 10/31/09 at 12:10 a.m., a WC student threw a beer can that subsequently struck a Public Safety Officer. This information has been forwarded to Student Affairs for review.

COLLEGE POLICY VIOLATION: A WC student was issued a campus citation on 11/1/09 at 12:15 a.m. after being witnessed smoking a cigarette out of her dorm window in Reid.

ALCOHOL: On 11/1/09, three alcohol citations were written between 12:37 and 1:05 a.m., all in the Western Shore dorm area. In each case, officers witnessed individuals with open containers of alcohol. All three individuals are under the age of 21.

BURGLARY: On 11/1/09 at 3:00 a.m., a Public Safety Officer on patrol responded to the Kirby Stadium upon hearing the fire alarm going off. The door to the Skybox was open, the pull station had been activated, and minor damage had been done in the Skybox area. Investigation is ongoing.

MDOP: Public Safety received a report on 11/3/09 that four individuals had been witnessed a few nights earlier destroying the fence surrounding the patio at Dorchester. Investigation is ongoing.
