The men’s soccer team concluded its season Saturday with a loss to 11th ranked Johns Hopkins. Ten minutes into the match, Hopkins scored on a loose ball inside the box; the Shoremen were able to strike back when freshman Tim Marcin scored off of junior Gavin Rayburn’s corner kick five minutes later. Unfortunately, the score was 1-3 going into the second half. The final score was 1-5.
Before the game, the Shoremen honored their two seniors Kevin Rodriguez and captain Tom Heppard. Both started playing for the team their sophomore year. Rodriquez scored his first collegiate goal this year in the Shoremen’s 2-1 victory over Haverford. Heppard has been a solid link in the Shoremen’s defense over the course of his three playing years and recorded one assist in the 2-1 win over Stevenson College his junior year.
The Shoremen finished their season 3-13-1. They were 1-7-1 in the Centennial Conference. They scored a cumulative of ten goals this season with Marcin leading way with two goals and one assist.
