Thereís no better time to prepare for the future than the present. In todayís competitive job market preparation is key. Millions of graduating college students are actively searching for jobs in a market that simply cannot accommodate the demand. Companies are actively branching outside of the U.S. to recruit international employees.
There has never been a more important time to start thinking about how to shape the future. Students all across the country understand the importance of preparing for life after college. Fortunately, Washington College has the resources to create opportunities for all of its students and to help make the job preparation process easier.
The Center for Career Development, in collaboration with members of the school organization Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), is hosting the 2010 Career Fair on March 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Cain Gymnasium. Students of all ages and from all areas of study are encouraged to come out and meet the over 50 employers who will be present at this yearís Career Fair.
The fair offers students the opportunity to gain valuable job searching experience, strengthen their professional networks, and possibly acquire a job or summer internship. In order to imprint a positive impression on the attending employers, all are asked to please dress in appropriate interview attire. All will benefit from conveying a positive image of WC. Use the holiday season as an opportunity to prepare for the upcoming Career Fair; create or fine-tune a resume, purchase a professional outfit, and practice interviewing skills.
Regardless of what, if any, steps taken to prepare for life after college, itís never too late to start thinking about the future. Use the Career Fair as a catalyst for a successful professional career. The time to act is now, so forget the past and start preparing for the future today.
